Bernard Defaix, fourth generation of a family of vine-growers, started in 1959 with 2 hectares.
Through perseverance and hard work, Bernard and his wife Monique acquired and planted new land over the years. Today the estate is 25 hectares which includes some of the best AC's of the Chablis region.
Today, Benrard is taking things a little easier, hence the domain is run by sons, Sylvain and Didier. Bernard nevertheless continues to provide his expert advice to his two sons.
Didier looks after the vineyards, sales and marketing, and finance. Whilst Sylvain is in charge of all the wine making, ageing and bottling. |
