Drappier Champagne is considered, amongst
wine experts, to be one of the finest of cuvees, Oz Clarke, in his pocket Wine Guide 2005, lists Drappier amongst his recommended champagne houses. |
Cart d'Or-Brut is predominantly from the white juice of the black grape, Pinot Noir, with just a little Chardonnay added to provide that buttery smooth palate. It is fresh but mature, has complex flavours & full of rich fruit.
This has only 7 per cent white grapes, making it almost a blanc de noirs. It has a strong, savoury, bready, developed bouquet showing lots of yeast autolysis. The rich, smooth, very appealing flavour has a streak of lemony acidity running through it and some liqueur sweetness. The finish is clean and dry. - 5 stars Uncorked Magazine; Summer 2004
