Santa Rosa wines are found just outside Agentina's Mendoza region, in the foothills of the Andes. Mendoza is the source of three quarters of the country's wines, and has been at the forefront of major improvements over the last 10-15 years.
José Alberto Zuccardi, President of the family company La Agricola, which owns Santa Rosa estate, believes that vineyard management is the key to the ultimate success of the wines.
Zuccardi has two vineyards, the main Zuccardi Vineyard is located in Mendoza, with the Santa Rosa Vineyard some 15 Km to the east of Mendoza. |

José Alberto Zuccardi also places employee welfare high on his agenda, all of Zuccardi's vineyards are farmed organically which is labour intensive. Along with other local farmers, he has set up a school less than a kilometer from his vineyards for the children of the workers, which now boasts 200 pupils. Zuccardi's regular staff of 430 learn a variety of tasks to keep them earning 12 months a year. The moral angle to this is clear, but it makes business sense as well. |
